College Announcement
by Erik Wiegardt

The College of Stoic Philosophers has great news. After much deliberation it was decided by the faculty to make the Stoic Essential Studies Course (SES) available free of charge.
In addition, the College is expanding its curriculum to include a graduate school for those who have completed the SES course. The Marcus Aurelius Graduate School will be opening its Internet doors in early January. Applications are being taken now.

This is good news, but I do hope that people who do this donate a fee that was similar to what was asked for before. It seemed fairly reasonable to me. I sometimes feel the internet has made many people feel that information is so easy to get free, but being guided and following a path to a better understanding of our world and life is worth it, so I do not understand why the change happened? I am happy to try to donate for the wonder online books that I am still reading from this site.

For my part I'm glad that the SES course is free again - it is a good thing for people, and a good thing that we can do for people.
In contrast, that the Grad course involves a monetary commitment is right and proper: If one actually finishes the SES, then he or she knows the value of it & will make the effort to continue & improve. I will certainly be enrolling.
